Abstract
The efficient white light emission from double-layer light emitting diodes (LED) with green and red dyes dispersed in a blue-emitting host polymer was investigated. It was observed that the resulting white light-emitting device reached a maximum external quantum efficiency of 0.82% and a maximum brightness of 12,900 cd/m 2 at 12 V. It was found that the devices showed relatively high efficiency and brightness at low applied voltages. It was also observed that the chromaticity coordinate of the device remained close to that of pure white emission at a relatively broad bias range from 6 V to 12 V.
