Abstract
Atom-probe field ion microscopy investigations of (α2 + γ) Ti-47%Al-2%Cr-2%Nb (at%) doped with 0·15% B and 0·2% W, indicate that the boron is mainly concentrated in boride precipitates. Several borides including TiB2, TiB and a Cr-enriched M2B phase were detected. Initial results give no appreciable evidence of boron segregation to γ/γ or α2/γ interfaces. The solubility of boron in the γ and α2 matrix phases was found to be 0·011 ± 0·006 at% B and
