Abstract

In this paper, we have proposed a novel method for biometric authentication using mean intensity spread of the optical disc in retinal fundus image. Images in RGB and YCbCr color spaces are tested in 2 separate experiments. Experiment 1 resulted in 83% accuracy using RGB and in experiment 2, 88% accuracy was achieved, also in RGB color space. The average time taken for recognizing a face image is 2.32 seconds.
