Abstract
The notion of emergence can be understood from the vantage point of relational ontologies or processual ontologies. We will comment the perspectives of Karen Barad and Alfred North Whitehead. We will especially evaluate the notion of performance in Barad’s writings and the notion of process developed by Whitehead. We will discuss the implications of these complementary and contrasting views for the description of diverse situated forms of analog and digital creativity.
