Abstract

The possibility of increasing the bandwidth of a center probe-fed cylindrical dielectric ring resonator antenna through stacking another DR of the same dimensions on the top of the fed DR is demonstrated. Both the return loss and the radiation patterns of the stacked DR antenna are computed by the FD-TD method. Numerical results generated from this are compared to experimental measurements, as a result, several discrepancies are observed. These are accounted to the finite ground plane effect.
