Abstract

An in vivo measurement of background noise and myoelectric (ME) signal is performed on muscles under relaxed and voluntary contractions. Effects of this noise on measures of the ME signal are analyzed theoretically based on an ME signal generation model. Preliminary theoretical results, verified by experiments, indicate that the background noise influences the SNR curves of the ME signal.
