Abstract

A modified turbo-type concatenated Hadamard code is presented. The proposed scheme can achieve a performance only 0.44 dB away from the ultimate Shannon limit with a modest decoding complexity. A bit error rate of approximately 10-5 at an Eb/N0≈-1.15 dB is observed using an interleaver length of 60,000.
