Abstract

A modified turbo-type concatenated Hadamard code is presented. The proposed scheme can achieve a performance only 0.44 dB away from the ultimate Shannon limit with a modest decoding complexity. A bit error rate of approximately 10^-5 at an E_b/N₀≈-1.15 dB is observed using an interleaver length of 60,000.
