Abstract

This paper provides an analytically study on the conventional Internet caching system and the caching system using a load reduction technique. The performance metrics are request response time, disk utilization, and system throughput gain. The two systems are modeled as closed queuing networks, and the technique used to solve the networks is Mean Value Analysis (MVA).
