Abstract
Accurate analytical approximate solutions to the double-well Duffing oscillator are presented. The solutions are obtained by combining Newton's method with the harmonic balance method. The procedure yields rapid convergence with respect to exact solution. The results are valid for small as well as large oscillation amplitudes. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
