Analysis of closed loop production lines in automotive body shops

Research output: Chapters, Conference Papers, Creative and Literary Works › RGC 32 - Refereed conference paper (with host publication) › peer-review

Abstract

This paper introduces an application study of closed loop system analysis and improvement at an automotive body shop. A novel method is presented to decompose the closed loop line into smaller loops, and iteration procedures are used to estimate the body shop throughput as a function of number of carriers. To improve system performance, the lean number of carriers is investigated and the bottleneck station is identified and mitigated. © 2016 IEEE.
