Abstract

This paper presents a new framework for the conceptual analysis of model management. The framework is object-oriented in the sense that it emphasizes the concepts of data abstraction, information hiding and inheritance. It consists of two parts, namely a conceptual structure for the specification of mathematical decision models and a set of high-level manipulation operators over the conceptual structure. The proposed framework helps to reduce redundancy and avoid inconsistency in the conceptual analysis of model management; as well, it provides a blueprint for building an object-oriented model management system. © 1995.
