Abstract

This letter presents an improved two-state turbo single-parity-check code for applications with rates around 1/3. The new code is compared with the (15, 13)₈ turbo code used in the Third Generation Partnership Project. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed code can achieve similar performance at reduced decoding complexity. ©. 2004 IEEE.
