These schemes are compared to the original method developed by Rao, Wilton, and Glisson (RWG) in terms of efficiency and accuracy. An important feature of the schemes is that the symmetry of the matrix is retained such that only the diagonal and the upper triangular portions of the matrix are stored. A banded matrix iterative algorithm is then applied to solve this symmetry matrix. The matrix fill time is reduced by a factor of 2 when compared to RWG.
