Abstract

Trees, which spread all over the world, the great number of which causes potential threats to human. The accidents that trees fell down and injured people happened from time to time. Bad health is considered responsible for these accidents because the structure of poor-health tree is more fragile and unstable. In order to prevent these harms, a tree health algorithm has been proposed to efficiently and accurately assess tree health in this paper. Utilizing smart sensors, tree health is allowed to be assessed based on sensor-measured ambient features. Machine learning algorithm is involved to find the relationship between ambient features and tree health. This algorithm could provide valuable and important guidance for tree managers to adopt necessary measures. As a result, accidents that human safety hazarded by falling trees can be avoided.
