Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of an integrative action-based approach to teach an undergraduate course in project management at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. The course incorporates formal lectures, tutorials, and a 'Build a Tower-II' workshop. It stresses the action learning, teamwork, group decision-making and process-oriented evaluation. The action-based approach provides a venue of accelerating learning where enables students to handle dynamic problem situations more effectively. The course has been implemented with encouraging results in student learning and development. Evidence shows that the action-based teaching is one of effective means other than the traditional classroom teaching in universities.
