A Wideband Circularly-Polarized Magneto-Electric Dipole Transmitarray for K-Band Application

Abstract

A wideband circularly polarized (CP) transmitarray is presented in this paper. The unit cell is designed based on a wideband magneto-electric (ME) dipole element. The proposed unit cell can efficiently receive the CP incident wave and emit the wave out with the opposite handedness. Therefore, a 360° phase tuning range can be realized by rotating the unit cell based on the geometric phase. For demonstration, a CP transmitarray operating at K band is designed. The results show that wideband performance is realized. The simulated peak realized gain is up to 24.9 dBic. © 2023 IEEE.
