Abstract

We present the design and experimental demonstration of a surface-normal plasmonic modulator using electro-optic polymer integrated with a metallic interdigitated structure. Electro-optic modulation was observed and the device is expected to achieve high-speed E-O modulation for free-space 3-D optical interconnects.
