Abstract
The well-known Engset model has been widely used and studied. In this paper, we propose a new state dependent approximation for a special case of the generalized Engset model that considers packet/burst dumping.We also correct here several errors in [7] which considered the same model. Numerical results over a wide range of parameters demonstrate the superiority of the new approximation over previous ones. © 2006 IEEE.
