Abstract

In this paper, a quad-polarization horn antenna is proposed based on the waveguide septum polarizer and 3-dB hybrid coupler. The hybrid coupler can be set at on- or off-state mechanically, so that the horn works with either dual linear polarizations or dual circular polarizations. The proposed horn antenna is demonstrated at the X-band. An overlapped bandwidth of 38.8% is obtained. Gains of different polarization modes are close and range from 12.7-17.3 dBi.
