Abstract
The present study shows a ·predictive modelling method of the contouring accuracy in turning by taking account of the geometrical errors caused by manufacturing, assembling, wearing and deformations caused by thermal and load conditions. The mathematical model is expressed as a power function and its accuracy is tested by cutting tests on a lathe with a feed-forward compensation system developed by the author. The results show considerable improvement of the contouring accuracy, which proves the correctness of the model.
