Abstract
This paper deals with the weighted sum rate maximization problem in wireless networks consisting of multiple source-destination pairs. Since the optimization problem is nonconvex, there are multiple local maxima. Here, we propose a simple iterative power control algorithm, namely round-robin (RR) power control, which has a low computational complexity. By comparing against benchmark problem instances, we show by simulation that the proposed algorithm converges to the global maximum with very high probability. Besides, a distributed implementation of the RR algorithm is established. The performance is satisfactory and the result is potential for practical use. ©2009 IEEE.
