Abstract

We proposed a polarization-reconfigurable liquid dielectric resonator antenna (LDRA) with two switchable ± 45º linear polarizations. The proposed DRA is composed of three zones: the left zone, the middle zone, and the right zone. The middle zone is the common zone for both two states. When it is working at STATE 1, both the left and middle zones are filled with liquid and excited by a probe with a - 45º linear polarization. When it is working at STATE 2, both the right and middle zones are filled with liquid and excited by a probe with a + 45º linear polarization. In the design, a dielectric liquid called ethyl acetate is applied as the radiator of the DRA. A container is fabricated by 3D printing technology for the liquid DRA.
