Abstract

Reaction of copper(II) acetate with tren [tris(2-aminoethyl)amine] and K2[Pt(CN)4] produced a novel trinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu3(tren)4][Pt(CN)4]3·2H2O; the cation consists of three Cu(tren)2+ units connected by an additional tren ligand.
