Abstract

Reaction of copper(II) acetate with tren [tris(2-aminoethyl)amine] and K₂[Pt(CN)₄] produced a novel trinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu₃(tren)₄][Pt(CN)₄]₃·2H₂O; the cation consists of three Cu(tren)²⁺ units connected by an additional tren ligand.
