Abstract
A pseudospectral based method of lines (MOL), used for the analysis of arbitrarily shaped spatial three dimensional planar MIC/MMIC, was discussed. The resonant frequency of a microstrip resonator dominant mode was analyzed using this method and it was shown that the convergence speed of the method is faster than the second-order finite difference based MOL. The technique is numerically efficient as most of the unfavorable properties associated with spectral-domain analysis or MOL are avoidable.
