Abstract

This paper presents a new approach to the realization of dual-band operation in a single printed-dipole antenna by incorporating compact resonant cell (CRC) structures. A dual-band antenna that oparates at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz is constructed to illustrate the design methodology. The overall length of the proposed antenna is reduced by 12%, in comparison with that of the conventional design. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
