Abstract
A hydrazine group-containing nitrogen-phosphine ligand and corresponding ruthenium complexes were synthesized. When these complexes were used for hydrogenation of esters, excellent performance was observed (TON up to 17 200). A wide substrate scope was suitable for this catalytic system. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2015.
