Abstract
A dual-circularly-polarized (DCP) patch antenna array with a novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) feed network is proposed at millimeter-wave band. In our design, two polarizations share a common feed network and radiation elements so that the two polarizations have very similar performance. To demonstrate the working principle of the proposed structure, an 8×8-element array is designed and fabricated. The array shows a wide bandwidth (SWR<2, AR<3) of 24%, a maximum gain of about 25.8 dBic, and a port-to-port isolation larger than 14 dB.
