Abstract
In this paper we give a procedure for estimating the reliability of a structural system when failure data on either the structure, its components, or on both are available. We first develop procedures for structures whose components are assumed to operate independently of each other. We then prove that the reliability estimates thus obtained provide meaningful inequalities for the reliability of the structure when its components are dependent in a specified manner. © 1976.
