Abstract
By incorporating the effect of environmental embrittlement into the classical fracture mechanic approach, a mechanical model for the fracture stress of Ni3Al was developed. The effects of various factors including environment, strain rate, grain size, alloying and aluminium content were considered by the theoretical model and were consistent with the published experimental observations.
