Abstract

A magnetic current-based linearly polarized antenna with filtering response is investigated in this paper. The antenna consists of two substrates and one reflector. A slot antenna is firstly constructed, then, it is used to feed the two rectangular loops. The slot and the loop can be viewed as two magnetic currents, which contribute to the filtering response because of interaction between them. Besides, three stubs are not only utilized to tune the impedance matching, but also contribute the antenna's filtering response. The reflector is placed underneath the slot to improve the directivity of the antenna. The results show the antenna has a good impedance matching performance from 3.2 to 3.8 GHz. A good filtering response is also demonstrated. The gain is about 7.4 dBi at the center frequency of 3.5 GHz. The unidirectional radiation pattern is observed with low cross-polarization.
