Abstract

A newly developed evolutionary computing algorithm, Jumping Genes Evolutionary Algorithm is applied to optimize the dimensions of a folded patch antenna with double shorting walls. In the optimized design, an impedance bandwidth (VSWR ≤2) of 101% is recorded, which shows an improvement by 29% comparing with its original design. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
