    Abstract

Use of technology in the modern classroom is often a norm. Proper use of internet technologies, for example, should enhance the language teaching and learning experience. After all, technology should be a tool that helps us accomplish tasks that cannot be done through traditional media, e.g. pen and paper. Technology-minded teachers often make efforts to create interactive learning tasks using a wide range of free software programs. However, the download and installation (and update) process of most software, while relatively straightforward and simple, inevitably requires time and coordinated efforts at institutional level. With the increasing shift of computing to the "cloud", a large part of the problem is solved. Language teachers keen to integrate technology into their teaching no longer need to download or install software. The presenter will demonstrate a new way to create interactive language teaching / learning materials using a Google cloud computing service.
