Abstract
This paper presents a novel technique for affine invariant recognition of single, near planar object shapes from broken boundaries. In this approach, the matching scores between pairs of object contours are computed based on a combir ation of a genetic algorithm and a distance transform. © 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
