Abstract
As firms face to incorporate global sourcing strategies, integrate contract manufacturing relationships, and deal with the increasing number of events that can cause supply chain disruption, managing risk in the supply network is an increasingly critical capacity. As a result, supply chain risk management (SCRM) is emerging as a critical supply chain management discipline. To understand the key factors and drivers of supply chain risk, we investigate the general risk management works for supply chain management. Inspired by the SCOR model of supply chain council, we propose a conceptual framework of SCRM that integrates the risk management methods into the SCOR model. The new framework can fill in the gap of SCOR model that was not including any risk managements. It follows by a case study of SCRM in practice by a famous home appliance corporation for risk mitigation and competitive advantage.
