Abstract

A four-node differential quadrature (4NDQ) method is proposed as a simple, accurate and efficient numerical technique for bending analysis of Reissner/Mindlin plates in an arbitrarily straight-sided quadrilateral domain. For demonstration, a clamped skew rhombic plate is used as an example to illustrate the convergence, accuracy and efficiency of the 4NDQ method. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
