A dynamic setting method for a public transit network

Research output: Chapters, Conference Papers, Creative and Literary WorksRGC 32 - Refereed conference paper (with host publication)peer-review

Abstract

Optimization of urban public transit networks is an important means to improve the efficiency of urban public transit systems. We have proposed a dynamic setting method to obtain an effective network program. First, a land use study is carried out according to transit characteristics by using fuzzy cluster analysis. Then the dynamic relation between public transit network index and producing amount is analyzed using statistics, calculus and transportation planning theory. Finally, a dynamic algorithm is given to set transit network dynamics and an example case is explored to test the proposed method's effectiveness. © 2010 ASCE.
