Abstract

This article introduces the life and works of Hu Shih as a diplomat, a topic that was relatively under explored in the past. Focusing on his writings written during his term as China's Ambassador to the U.S., I argue that Hu Shih's view on the Sino-American relations and international politics are influenced by his experiences and observations in America in the 1910s as well as in the 1940s and 1950s.
