Abstract

This work presents a broadband four-element antenna array using full-wave dipole (FWD). The broad impedance bandwidth is realized by introducing gaps in both two arms of the dipole. Besides, the proposed antenna element can achieve a higher gain than hall-wave dipole (HWD) antennas due to the electrically large size of the FWD. The impedance bandwidth and 3-dB gain bandwidth of proposed antenna array is 67.8% and 51.4%, respectively. The proposed methodology is good for high gain antenna array design because it reduces the number of antenna elements and the complexity of power distributed network by using the high gain FWD.
