Abstract

According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), 19.6 GHz – 21 GHz and 29.4 GHz – 31 GHz are allocated for fixed-/mobile-satellite communications. Tofacilitate high throughput payload date, this paper presents a dual-circularly polarized (CP) feeding antenna operating on K-/Ka-band for offset-fed reflector antennas. Horn corrugations are placed parallelly with the central axis so that 3D-printing technology is easily employed to holistically fabricate the feed, which includes a horn, a polarizer and two matching adapters for standard waveguides. The simulated results reveal that an aperture efficiency of 74% and 68% is achieved for K-/Ka-band, respectively. © 2020 IEEE.
