Abstract

In this paper, a 160 GHz dual-polarized lens Antenna with enhanced bandwidth and gain is presented. The proposed Antenna consists of an LTCC based source, a 3D printed semispherical lens, and a 3D printed supporter. Aperture-shared cross structure is used in the source, which helps to produce wide bandwidth from 146 GHz to 166 GHz. With the help of a 3D printed lens, the total gain of each polarization can be boosted to 19 dBi. In addition, due to the stable performance of LTCC based source, the proposed Antenna has gains which are more than 18.4 dBi within the operating frequency and the radiation patterns remain stable. Moreover, two types of transition and 3-corner feeding network is used to make twofeeding ports collinear. Therefore, metal block fabrication procedures at such a frequency band can be simplified.
