Abstract
Combining in-depth interviews with filmmakers and critical analysis of representative works, this book takes a dual perspective on the ecology of independent filmmaking in Hong Kong with a view to better position "independent cinema" in the context of Hong Kong, which so far has been under-studied in critical scholarship on independent filmmaking in other Chinese-language cinemas.
