Abstract
This paper reports on our recent work on XML markup for the content and hierarchy of the BUS corpus of Chinese-English bilingual texts of Hong Kong laws.The hierarchical structure of the encoded corpus is identical to the logical structure of real laws publication.Utilizing the markup information we realize the law text indexing and orientation.The XML markup of the bilingual corpus conforms to the international corpus encoding standard XCES.There are few reports about corpora encoded according to XCES in m.
