Abstract

Landscape renovation of landfill is an important measure for comprehensive reuse of developed land in Hong Kong. It is different from the conventional way that the closed landfill site is used as the suburban greening planting area, the closed landfills in Hong Kong are not only distributed in urban areas, but also have various targets for landscape renovation. This paper first reviews the unique development process of Hong Kong landfill and reveals the multiple motivations for promoting the development of landfill in different periods. Secondly, from the perspective of urban development, the overall impact of the change of the external environment on the landfill landscape is analyzed. By sorting out the overall technical route of landfill reconstruction in three stages, and the engineering strategy for each phase, and the close relationships that exist between the phases, the basic strategies and methods of landscape renovation of landfill in Hong Kong are summarized, in order to provide ideas and methods for the landscape renovation of landfill sites in other high-density cities in China.
