Abstract
Experiments were performed with a closed-loop self-exciting mode oscillating-flow heat pipe (SEMOHP) of non-uniform structure, whose wall temperature was measured and heat transmission characteristics was investigated by changing input power and position of the electric heating board used as the heat source. The heat transfer characteristics are compared with those of a closed-loop SEMOHP with uniform structure under the same conditions, such as working medium, filling rate, length and slanting angle as well as position of the electric heating board. Results show that, under low or medium heat load, heat transfer can be enhanced by using a SEMOHP. Besides, in case the heating source is located at the heat pipe's bottom below the non-uniform section, an optimal effect of enhanced heat transfer can be obtained.
