跨境电商综试区对中国城市运输业发展的影响

Based on the panel data of 283 cities in China from 2008 to 2021, the article takes the establishment of "cross- border e- commerce pilot zones" as a quasi- natural experiment, and tests the impact of the establishment of cross- border e- commerce pilot zones on the development of China's urban transportation industry from the dimensions of urban passenger transportation and freight transportation by using the PSM- DID method. The research results indicate that the establishment of cross- border e - commerce pilot zones significantly promotes the development of China's urban passenger transport industry, while having no significant impact on the development of urban freight transport industry. This conclusion still holds true after placebo testing and multiple matching ratio tests. Heterogeneity tests indicate that for cities with lower income levels, the comprehensive pilot zone's promotion effect on passenger transport will be stronger. Currently, the influx of consumer population has become an important driving force for urban economic development. Cities should more effectively leverage the passenger transport driving effect of these pilot zones to boost urban economic growth.
