Abstract

Information literacy instruction and services gradually show their importance with the repositioning of the educational functions of university library. The paper used case analysis, network and literature surveys to conduct an in-depth analysis and summary from team building, policy guidance, librarian development, collaborative cooperation, one-to-one instruction, and active learning in the information literacy instruction and service of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library. The paper proposed the following countermeasures for the development of information literacy instruction and services for domestic university libraries: attaching importance to team building and strengthening policy guidance; cultivating professional capabilities and encouraging collaborative cooperation; meeting individual needs and providing one-to-one instruction; building online learning resources and enriching library tours.
