Abstract
In this study, a nanostructured energetic composite that composed of MnO2 nanosheets with root-embedded Al on silicon wafer was prepared and investigated. Porous MnO2 nanosheets were synthesized on the silicon substrate via a hydrothermal method, followed by the magnetron sputtering of Al. The morphology, phase and composition of MnO2/Al nanostructured energetic materials were characterized by SEM, XRD, and XPS. The heat-release characteristics were also studied by DSC. Thermal analysis shows the MnO2/Al nanostructured energetic materials have a low onset reaction temperature around 510°C and a relative high reaction of heat about 2 380 J/g before Al melting. Hydrophobicity is achieved by coating a layer of fluorocarbon, indicating the possible long-term storage ability.
