Abstract
Compared with the 2nd mobile telecommunication system, the most distinct character of WCDMA is its multiplexing and channel coding scheme. This scheme is the basis of supporting multimedia service, while it also causes high complexity and long process delay. This paper introduces the multiplexing and channel coding scheme of WCDMA, and analyzes the reasons why it's difficult to implement. According to the analysis, a new algorithm is presented which is based on the idea of moving the data stream with address computation. It will be shown that through this algorithm, the whole system could be simplified greatly and implemented with much less memory and shorter process delay.
