Abstract
橫瀾島燈塔至今已屹立了超過122年，是中國海關總稅務司署韓德善 (David Marr Henderson) 總營造司 (總工程師) 在中國服務29年所協助興建的34座燈塔之一。因歷經二戰炮火與日軍佔領3年零8個月，很多原始的建築圖則已經遺失了。橫瀾島燈塔與大連老鐵山燈塔是姊妹塔，都向法國購買了當時世界上最先進的頭等白色透鏡。於1893年同時啟用後，成為了當時東亞射程最遠、最閃亮的燈塔。
LHRC項目組在2019年專程到英國拜訪韓德善曾孫女 Felicity Somers Eve，以搜集手繪圖則與相關文獻。從駐守在橫瀾島燈塔20年的花維路 (Charles Beatty Allenby Haig Thirlwell) 與水上人社群的故事中，我們看到原本寂寂無聞的燈塔守以一己之力，宣揚互愛互助的理念，幫助水上人融入殖民時期的香港社會，消弭可能產生的社會分歧，因此他的事蹟也廣為水上人傳頌。字裡行間，我們不僅可以重溫燈塔科技日新月異的發展，還體會到水上人相互合作，彼此提攜，乘風破浪以創造集體榮景的溫暖歷程。
此紀錄片由專家講解及展覽韓德善的橫瀾島燈塔建築原始圖則，和 LHRC 專案團隊應用數位虛擬3D重建技術還原的橫欄島燈塔1893年建築原貌。並透過和花維路家人與漁民朋友們的訪談一起回顧他們的家族檔案與老照片，讓觀眾們看到燈塔背後的人文故事。
